The following Medical Spanish curriculum includes the course number, the healthcare professionals for whom the course is designed, and starting date. Course instruction will be taught in live workshops and webinars.
Medical Spanish courses include the necessary functional Spanish used by healthcare professionals in their respective jobs. It includes directive Spanish, responsive Spanish, job and function-specific communication, medical terminology, anatomy, exercises, language labs, language short cuts, and dialogue for Worker's Compensation insured patients.
Spanish is one the easiest languages to learn but everyone learns at a different pace. Our on-line student-centered learning program allows students to learn Medical Spanish at their own pace, use learning resources to reinforce learning, and repeatedly listen to the pronunciation of Medical Spanish. Additional language learning and retention is reinforced by webinars, audio visual online sessions of pronunciation, exercises, audio/visual medical dictionary, learning resources, live workshops, language labs, and a 40 – 60 page workbook.
Continuing Education Units, CEU's
Many professionals annually renew their certificates and licenses by enrolling in continuing education to be able to continue practicing their profession. Each state and profession has its own criteria for the needed amount of educational hours. Continuing Education Units or CEU's are provided to assist professionals maintain quality educational standards. One CEU credit unit is granted for every ten contact hours that students have acquired from accredited educational courses and programs. Medical Spanish for Physical and Occupational Therapists is the first course awaiting state approval. Other courses will also include CEU's upon approval by the state of North Carolina.
Students who successfully complete a Medical Spanish course will receive a Certificate of Training to show their successful completion signed by their instructors. View the Certificate
